YarBros started with paintings I wanted to wear.
I’m Eric Yarbrough, an artist in Brooklyn, a psychiatrist, and co-owner of a wine shop in Williamsburg. I spend much of my day listening to people or talking with them about what they like. In the studio, I get to follow my own eye. YarBros grew out of that: a love of painting, a weakness for rich color, and a desire to see more of both in men’s clothing.
The collection brings together my paintings and drawings with art I keep coming back to: tapestries, mosaics, old masters, and vintage patterns. I restore and rework those images for clothing, thinking about where a detail will land, how a pattern will repeat, and what happens to a composition when someone puts it on and moves.
Color is what connects it all. Deep golds, glowing reds, blues that look especially good in winter light. Men make room for those colors in their homes and linger over them in museums. I want to make room for them in a closet, too.
Every piece is made to order, printed and sewn after you buy it. There’s no warehouse full of finished clothes waiting for someone to want them.
Wear something beautiful.
